The “floor paintings” that Maria van Elk designed for the floors on the ground floor are very
            impressive. In these designs she was inspired, as far as the form was concerned, by the crossings
            of two arches in the roof of the public space. The passage of invading daylight has been
            determinative for the colors.


            Cool, greyish blue in the morning
            Warm yellow in the afternoon
            Dark blue-violet in the evening
